peopleCare is part of a new generation of long term care
homes for senior citizens. Originating from Tavistock Ontario,
three generations of the Schlegel family have helped shape
this family owned organization. There are currently 3 homes
in operation with plans to expand in the future. peopleCare, see themselves operating beautiful homes, not residences or facilities. The peopleCare motto is to be “a place where people Care”.

THE CHALLENGE

peopleCare have a large staff numbering over300.With the anticipated growth of the organication,this number could sonn approach 500.Payroll, time and attendance as well as the traditional accounting functions are all critical business applications. These applications all run on secure servers. The business challenge was how to provide the right users with access to these critical applications. The solution needed to operate easily, without being dependant on a lot of IT support. It had to allow peopleCare to monitor application usage as well as make changes to user privileges quickly and easily.

THE SOLUTION

peopleCare chose the THINWORX solution because it was feature rich and was priced much lower than Citrix. THINWORX license costs were much lower than Citrix. In addition, THINWORX affordable software and maintenance costs resulted in even more savings. peopleCare achieved their objective to put in place a solution that provides secure user access to critical business applications. Privileged users can now also access critical business applications remotely. Working from home office or when on business travel, THINWORX provides privileged users with secure application access via an Internet Browser.
